I am a Board Certified and New York State licensed clinical social worker. I have a graduate degree in Social Work from the Hunter College School of Social Work with a focus on individual and family psychotherapy. I have completed post graduate training in both the 2 year program in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy and the 4 year program in Psychoanalysis at the Institute for Contemporary Psychotherapy. My career has focused on providing mental health care services to the underserved, including undocumented, immigrant, Latine, HIV + and the LGBTQIA community; with over 15 years of experience serving these populations. Additionally I was an integral part in the creation and implementation of the mental health social work services component at Mount Sinai's Center for Transgender Medicine and Surgery.
My goal in working with patients is to help them explore and identify behaviors or thinking patterns that may be keeping them from reaching their full potential in all aspects of their lives. We will work collaboratively in a safe, judgment-free environment. I work primarily from a psychodynamically informed perspective and will incorporate various treatment modalities to my work with my client. My treatment approach depends on the needs of each individual client; creating a unique treatment plan that meets each client where they are.
Services
I provide personalized, compassionate care for individuals seeking change using a variety of treatment modalities.
I have extensive experience working with the LGBTQIA community. Along with individual psychotherapy, I provide pre-surgical assessments and related services for gender-affirming surgeries and procedures.
